Birthday Party and Father's Day...Oh my!

So I'm pretty exhausted so I won't write much at the moment, but I wanted to post some photos of our awesome weekend. The party was a total success, except for the fact that Connor was a little under the weather. He got in his first molar and it did not agree with him. He was up the night before his party at 4AM, 5:30AM, and then up screaming at 6:45AM. I had to give him tylenol not only for the pain, but also, because he had a fever due to the teething. It was really sad. The tylenol did help though, so he wasn't fussy at all, but we all agreed that he just wasn't himself. He didn't crack a smile all day. I think he did the best he could, but I don't think he thoroughly enjoyed his party, due to the teething issues.

Everything else about the party was awesome. The food, decorations, and water activities were all a huge hit. The sangria got rave reviews as well. We had a great turnout and despite the heat, I think everyone had a great time. Connor got some great gifts and despite his health issues, he got to mingle with lots of his friends and family.

It was also fun at night once the kids went to bed, because all the adults got to hang out and relax. I love spending time with my family.

The good news about the party being a little overwhelming was that I didn't have one second to think about the fact that my baby is now a toddler and realize that he's getting to be a big boy. Honestly though, now that I have had a few moments, I'm really not that sad. I'm actually looking forward to all the things big kids can do, like walk and talk and do more activities like play ball and ride a big wheel. The future certainly looks bright, considering one year old Connor is a pretty awesome little guy. I can't wait to see what's in store for us in this second year.

As for today, being with both my Dad and Jeff's Dad on Father's Day was really nice. Sadly, Jeff had to do quite a bit of cleaning up on Father's Day, but he did get a few special moments with his son and we tried to make him feel the love.

He really is an amazing Dad. I couldn't have asked for a better husband and father. Connor and I are both extremely lucky to have him.

Maybe the only smile we got all day. This was Saturday morning before his party.

Connor was feeling the love with all of his birthday cards.

A place to wish Connor a Happy Birthday near the front door.

The front door sign.

Connor having lunch before the party. He didn't have much of an appetite though.

Jeff's Mom (Gigi), Aunt Stacey, and Pagger Don.

Food table with chicken salad sandwiches, chicken nuggets, veggies, and fruit.

Hanging out around the shaded baby pool.

Connor enjoying the baby pool.

Party goers having some beverages and staying cooler under the umbrella.

This area of the yard is shaded so we set up chairs and a baby pool to soak your feet. It was really refreshing.

Connor's nephews, Martin (5) and Winnie (almost 3), waiting patiently for cake. The little cake is Connor's very own smash cake.

We gave Connor his cake and he didn't quite know what to do with it.

I tried to get him to try the icing but he wasn't into that.

I love this picture. He is staring at the cake with utter disgust.

While Connor sat staring at his cake we cut the big cake for everyone.

As I was cutting the cake, Jeff broke off some bits for Connor to try and he seemed to finally get the idea.

Mr. Messy Face.

Hmm, this stuff is actually pretty good.

"Hey, Aunt Erin, have you ever had this stuff before. It's delicious."

Most of the guests had left, so just family was hanging out.

Connor practicing standing in the pool. He can only do it for a few seconds, but his balance is getting better every day.

This was right before we put Connor to bed and we were saying our good nights. Before I put on his diaper I took his temperature and it was 101.8. The poor guy was not doing well.

Amazingly though, he woke up Sunday morning feeling like himself again. I was so glad. I was starting to wonder if he had the flu and it wasn't just teething.

We went out for a Father's Day/Winnie's Birthday breakfast at Cafe Express. It was nice, because he had lots of room and it wasn't crowded so we could be loud and crazy, like we normally are in this big group.

Connor did great at breakfast and his cousin Martin did too. I guess I better get used to having one kid on my lap and one kid sitting next to me, whenever we have another kid. Don't worry, it's not yet.

A cute pic of the Treadway men.

We took a bunch of pictures trying to get my Dad, Grandpa, with all 4 of his grandkids, but it didn't really work out so well. I posted this one, because Connor looks like the only one ready for his closeup.

Grandpa making Connor laugh after breakfast.

After breakfast we walked down to the Sugar Land fountain for a few minutes.

After we played near the fountain for a while, Connor found a bench to cruise on.

What a birthday cutie.

Connor's cousin Winnie (with the assistance of Aunt Stacey), pushed Connor's stroller.

The Treadways got Connor an adorable mini Adirondack chair for his birthday. Here he is lounging in it.

This chair is awesome.

Connor trying to keep up with his wild cousins.

Connor playing with his Happy Birthday balloon. He loves to bat at it and it usually makes him giggle.

Jeff and Connor had a few minutes where they watched golf together. It was very sweet.

I think they are trying to "will" a players ball to the left.

A sweet kiss from a Daddy to his son.
